NonStopTuning AE86 - 2013 Formula Drift

NonStopTuning AE86 – 2013 Formula Drift

Thank you to all the fans who came out to say hello at Formula Drift Long Beach this weekend, and those of you who watched online.

NonStopTuning drivers Joshua Steele and Will Parsons kicked off their rookie seasons with a bang.  Steele did a great job and was one of few rookies to lay down two solid runs during qualifying.  Parsons was ready to rock, but was sidelined by engine failure during the morning practice session just before qualifying.  The team will head back to Houston and prepare for round two of the 2013 FD season.  We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!

2013 NST Anniversary Car Show & Drift Competition Recap

2013 NonStopTuning Anniversary

2013 NonStopTuning Anniversary

Brendan Hunyadi says he wasn’t screaming while experiencing his first ride-a-long in Ross Le’s Army green 280Z at the 2013 NST Anniversary drift event held at Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque, Texas, Sunday, March 24.

He is calm and I’m not screaming, but I’m like ‘we’re going really quick and completely sideways’,” he said. “When we were done he asked me what I thought and I was like, ‘that was amazing.’”

Hunyadi is a prime example of what this event is really all about.

It gives us something to do not on the streets to have fun, and something that we want to do and just not hurt anyone else on the road, but it’s fun they open it up to us and let us all out.”

After learning on figure eights and circles, Hunyadi said this was his favorite part of the event to actually be able to go drift at high speed. It’s his first NST event and it won’t be his last.

I love it. I’m coming to round two,” he said. “My dad and I are already looking for a drift car.”

NonStopTuning 2012 Xtreme Drift Circuit Wrap Up. Media Galore!

Will Parsons NonStopTuning AE86

The 2012 season was packed with high powered fun and excitement.  The Xtreme Drift Circuit added new courses, new drivers, and even crowned a new champion.  NonStopTuning’s Chelsea DeNofa (back to back 2010 & 2011 champion) was no longer a full time driver in the series, having left to pursue what would become a very successful rookie year in Formula Drift, and that left the XDC crown up for grabs.

The NST squad had a great year in 2012.  The combination of Will Parsons, Joshua Steele, and Chelsea DeNofa went on to record more podium finishes than any other team in the series.  Will Parsons continued his streak as the only driver to have competed in every U.S. round of XDC, and continues to hold the record for being the only driver to have finished in the top four, at four consecutive events; more than 100 competitors have driven in the series since March of 2010.  NST was also the only team in the 2012 series to have two drivers finish the season in the top eight of the points chase.

1st – Forrest Wang – 449 points
2nd – Mike Pollard – 334 points
3rd – Nate Hamilton – 330 points
4th – Chelsea Denofa – 312 points
5th – Will Parsons – 300 points
6th – Stewart Leask – 296 points
7th – Dan Savage – 285 points
8th – Geoff Stoneback – 248 points

Will Parsons clinches second place, NST President launches new Gasoline Energy Drink at Lone Star Bash to support Texas grassroots sports community

Mineral Wells, Texas–Sporting a pink NST shirt, Jose Jasso’s young sister doesn’t know what to say about NonStopTuning or the Lone Star Drift Bash taking place at Mineral Wells airport.

Like him, the 12-year old girl has never been to a drift event before, but her brother heard about the bash from a friend, checked it out online and thought the grassroots experience looked like fun.

Hosted by Fabricated Motorsports, the bash is part one of a two part weekend and is not a competitive event. It is simply a time for drivers to have fun drifting and spectators to get involved with the sport.

On the first day, there’s ride-alongs, DJ’s spinning whimsical mixes, and a free keg for the drinkers with spirited tandem action during round 2 of the series on the next day at Texas Motor Speedway.

Initially, Jasso said he wasn’t going to make the trip to the Lone Star event because he didn’t want to travel the three-hour drive from Royse City alone. Luckily, his father and sister wanted to go too, so they made their way towards the Forth Worth area.

Mom stayed at home though.

She already gets a little scared when her son drives and living with a drag strip next door, he said she doesn’t really like the noise at events like this.

But Jasso and his family can’t get enough of it.

“I love the smell of tires burning,” he said. “It’s a nice day and then seeing these cars running around side by side, I love it. I like the colors of NST too.”
